yup.. change in directions.. haha..
less thinking more doing/drawing..
the time down here in LA area for the last six months been a dream come true..
meeting and networking w/ people in the industry.. finding out that not all the places down here really help you build the skills.. as in anything in life.. there are definitely snake oil salesmen down here.. but sometime, even some of them has a few good advise..
and.. as in all dreams one must wake up one time or another..
the wife's job is pretty unstable, so its time for me to look for a job.. at the very least she gave me one more term down here.. which is still awesome..!! overall can't complain about anything.. over the last six months I had to face my own demons non-stop.. in the end, the only one stopping me is myself.. there is no need for excuses.. life is not perfect.. never is and never was.. there never was an ideal situation to begin with..
so, what do you do when everything stops and you just have to find work.. you just have to go back to your strongest skills.. so this is the priority I'm setting up for myself..
1. 3D modeling
2. storyboarding
3. environmental concepts
the 3D modeling is going to be different from what I traditionally been doing.. as I post more you guys will understand.. Storyboarding.. sigh.. man.. a Dreamworks storyartist came in on the last day of class and showed what I was missing in mine.. acting.. etc.. etc.. but overall gave me a new direction.. and actually excited.. photoshoping environments and stuff.. back burner for sure.. not that I'll be giving up on it.. but I finally accept the fact that it will pretty much take few years to master.. and I'm OK with it..
I made a few friends that will help me.. it will take time.. but unlike before.. I'll be posting my progress..
oh.. for any of you interested in storyboarding.. Highly recommend "Toon Boon Storyboard pro" it should be around $270 educational prices and I think its worth it.. I seen people use photoshop.. but there's just too many steps to it..
anyway.. here we go..! towards a new direction.. !
